Your abandoned cart email may have almost nobody to send to

Before rewriting the copy, work out how many people are eligible. On one store the pool was about eight people a month.

Do the arithmetic first

On a store doing about 7,500 sessions a month, 41 people started checkout and 33 finished in the 30 days to August 20, 2026, about 80 percent. That leaves eight people a month who can receive an abandoned cart email. No subject line fixes that.

Two different failures

Cart abandonment is capped by how many people start checkout and do not finish. Browse abandonment is capped by how many visitors the platform can identify at all, which on that store was about 0.8 percent.

What the flow was worth

In the same 30 days, by Klaviyo's attribution, the cart flow on that store produced $504 from 2 orders on 20 sends. A good result on a tiny denominator, and the wrong place to spend the next hour.

Where the hour belongs

Raising checkout completion, and raising identification so more traffic is reachable at all. Both feed every flow downstream, which is why Get Names comes before Get Orders in the method.

If this sounds like your store

This is what Klaviyo email, done for you fixes. See it on one store, with the before and after, in the case study.
